Searching for the perfect candidate to provide day-to-day administrative support for the Virginia Beach team.

Core Responsibilities:
• Assist with day to day operations of the Branch (greeting visitors or callers, receiving, sorting and distributing mail, etc.).
• Provide administrative support to the Branch Manager (scheduling meetings/continuing education seminars, travel arrangements, seminar registrations, and ensuring proper arrangements are made, etc.).
• Assist with oversight of the Branch cleaning service, pest control, security, fire safety, etc.
• Assist in preparing project-related correspondence, spreadsheets, and reports.
• Maintain general office equipment. (i.e. printer/copier, postage machine, etc.)
• Utilize and maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (entering/maintaining client demographics, setting up a new project, and billing information).
• Assist with accounts payable/accounts receivable (remitting invoices, and recording and sending checks to Finance, making collection calls/sending emails on past-due invoices, etc.).
• Assist with coordinating Branch events and special projects (team gatherings, community involvement, etc.).
• Collect new hire paperwork and take new hire photo and forward to Human Resources.
• Provide additional administrative support as needed.


Skills + Knowledge:
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Preferred experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint software.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail, and able to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.


Education + Training:
• High School diploma or equivalent is required; Associate degree or better is preferred.


Work Experience:
• Three (3) or more years’ experience as an administrative assistant, office manager, or similar role.
• Experience in the architectural/engineering industry and/or building enclosure industry is a plus.

Physical + Environmental Demands:
• Sitting 75% of the time using computer equipment including desktop or laptop computer, keyboard, mouse, etc.
• Walking, standing, and/or moving 25% in an office environment.
• Sufficient ability to perform minor lifting (< 50 pounds).
Summary:
Working under the direction of project management and according to clear guidelines, provide field and office support for pavement renovation projects. Work includes AutoCAD drafting, recording measurements, observing construction work in progress, taking photographs, etc.

Core Responsibilities:
• Collect field data for use in the various aspects of consulting/engineering services, such as proposals, specifications, and assessments. Field data may consist of photographs, site plans, general notes including construction type, details, elevations, and measurements of existing conditions.
• Assist in producing project drawings and schematics.
• Perform construction monitoring during projects to ensure that the work is in accordance with the specifications.
• Document observations and discrepancies in a written report.
• Assist with assessments and investigations. Duties may include testing and material sampling.

Skills + Knowledge:
• Working knowledge of a CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software platform.
• Microsoft Office Suite skills to include Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Able to work in a team environment

Education and Training:
• Minimum two-year degree in engineering or construction-related program.
• A four-year degree is preferred, or equivalent work-related experience.

Physical + Environmental Demands:
• Ability to work outside year-round.
• Sufficient physical ability to perform moderate lifting (approximately 50 pounds minimum).
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and other access equipment.
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Summary:
Apply engineering principles and concepts learned from previous experience and/or formal education. Plan and perform project management and engineering duties for design, construction administration, assessments, and investigations. Provide work direction to technicians and less experienced colleagues. Work includes engineering calculations and decision-making and is performed on multiple projects simultaneously. Recognize, when there are better ways of doing things, research and recommend to the organization, and participate in implementation.

Core Responsibilities:
• Prepare engineering documents for use in construction activities. In order to prepare documents, collect and analyze field data of existing conditions, complete engineering calculations to determine design parameters, and determine the best solutions to resolve existing problems within budget limitations. Calculations and project documents are reviewed and sealed by a Professional Engineer for compliance with State Statutes.
• Perform construction management duties. Duties include conducting initial meetings with contractors to describe the project, obtain pricing from contractors and review to determine relevancy to the project, and make recommendations to the client on the award of the project. Perform construction monitoring during the work to ensure the final product is in compliance with engineered project documents, and coordinate any deficiencies observed with the contractor for resolution. Identify, evaluate and implement potential solutions to resolve conflicts identified during the work.
• Conduct assessments and investigations. Duties include determining the appropriate processes to be used, assembly and operation of testing apparatuses, directing the making and repairing of destructive openings in roofing and wall systems. Prepare documentation describing the existing conditions and deficiencies observed, and provide recommendations for improvements to existing conditions.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Skills + Knowledge:
• Have working knowledge of materials and installation processes used in roofing, wall, and other enclosure assemblies.
• Have working knowledge of Building Codes and engineering calculations, and use engineering judgment to apply these items to actual field conditions.
• Ability to understand project specifications, submittals, and other documentation, identify discrepancies between actual construction and project requirements, and articulate these discrepancies both verbally and in written reports.
• Ability to operate equipment used in assessments and investigations, including an infrared camera, electrical capacitance meters, water testing units, etc.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• (Microsoft) Word processing, spreadsheets, and general computer skills.

Education + Training:
• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering field, or formal technical program and equivalent experience.
• Has or working toward Registered Consultant certification(s).

Work Experience:
• Typically, five (5) or more years of relevant experience in a related field, preferably with a consulting and/or engineering firm. Formal educational or technical program in a relevant field or relevant certifications may count towards experience.

Physical + Environmental Demands:
• Sitting 75% of the time using computer equipment including desktop or laptop computer, keyboard, mouse, etc.
• Walking, standing, and/or moving 25% in an office environment.
• Ability to travel by car up to 15% locally with occasional overnights.
• Sufficient physical ability to perform moderate lifting (approximately 50 pounds maximum).
• Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, and other access equipment.
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.

Data collection is done under the general guidance of a project manager.
• Perform monitoring during construction projects to ensure that contractors do work according to specifications provided by engineers. Note discrepancies and report them to the engineering project manager or a more senior person for resolution. Document observations in a written report, which is reviewed by a project manager and then distributed to the client, contractor, and other parties.
• Assist with assessments and investigations. Duties may include assembly of testing apparatuses, performing and repairing destructive openings in roofing and wall systems, performing water testing, carrying tools/ladders, and other physical tasks.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Skills + Knowledge:
• Have working knowledge of materials and installation processes used in roofing, wall and other enclosure assemblies.
• Ability to understand project specifications, submittals, and other documentation, identify discrepancies between actual construction and project requirements, and articulate these discrepancies both verbally and in written reports.
• Have working knowledge of equipment used in assessments and investigations, including an infrared camera, electrical capacitance meters, water testing units, etc.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• (Microsoft) Word processing, spreadsheets, and general computer skills.

Education + Training:
• High school graduate.
• Formal technical program or equivalent experience.
• Has or working toward Registered Observer certification(s).

Work Experience:
