REI Engineers PCA services involve the following techniques and technologies:

INFRARED MOISTURE SURVEYS

Uses the latest sensing technology to locate wet insulation, voids and thermal bridging due to moisture infiltration and energy loss.

WUFI® PRO 5.2 software allows realistic calculation of heat and moisture transport through roof or wall components exposed to natural weather. This program can help analyze the thermal efficiency of walls and roofs, determine if condensation or moisture build-up will occur within the system and can even predict mold growth.

EXPERT VISUAL INSPECTIONS

Observing all exposed surfaces of the enclosure is useful in the identification of specific problem areas and the evaluation of their overall needs. Deficiencies identified include age-related deterioration, improper installation of materials, and poor material performance.

Drones can be utilized to access areas that may otherwise be inaccessible without scaffolding.

WEB-BASED ASSET MANAGEMENT

Our software provides real-time information allowing facility owners and managers access to their total building envelope assets and condition assessment reports. Reports include photographs, condition ratings, warranty information, recommended future maintenance activities and budget estimates.

WIND UPLIFT TESTING

REI’s experienced engineers and technicians assess the ability of a roofing system to adequately resist negative pressures – to ensure continued performance – by utilizing out multiple Field Uplift Kits (a bonded pull testing apparatus and a few negative pressure chambers).

PRESSURIZED WATER TESTING

Leak Investigations utilize hoses and pressurized nozzles, positioned strategically, that mimic natural environmental events, to induce infiltration under the watchful eye of REI professionals.

PROBING + OBSERVATION CORES

We use electronic probing devices to carefully identify adhesion, delamination, deterioration, moisture content, and composition of existing systems.

HURRICANE DAMAGE ASSESSMENT

Our experienced engineers and technicians are ready to accept assignments generated due to the unfortunate losses from damages incurred by hurricanes and storm events, such as:
